Since I've got WMP10 now and enjoy the synchronising features through playlists (which Pocketmusic unfortunately doesn't play) I have created a skin for WMP10 based on the Spb Charming Day skin (why create something bad from scratch when you can start with something good). The colours match the amber of the MINI dash in the dark perfectly. The skin is only available in portrait VGA.
WMP is stopped playing here, again the BMW sign shows as in
the PocketMusic skin below. Since Media Player doesn't like
to be stopped by turning of the PDA while playing I have added
a stop button (second from the left). Because no album art
is shown the background is visible.
Playing here, it shows the album art which I have for the
5000 songs I collected. Of course the MINI sign is visible
now. If you have WM2003SE the bottom bar will be grey as this
is only skinnable in Windows Mobile 5.Downloads
Unpack the Zip file and place the skin in the Windows Media Player folder, if you want you can create a subfolder there like Mini and drop the files there:

December 2004
I recently purchased a iPAQ hx4700 with GPS and was disappointed that HP didn't include the Windows Media Player 10 with Windows Mobile 2003 SE.
PocketMusic
Fortunately there is an excellent and free mp3 player on the internet named PocketMusic. Good news is that it is also skinnable amongst a lot of other features (see below). So I created a Mini skin to match the Mini dashboard. I hook up the PDA to the Mini radio through the Mini Auxiliary Audio Input.
Development
This was my first skin for any program, I have put in a lot of hours to create it. While development was progressing I noticed it was better to create a skin for use in daylight and a skin for use at night. This to have maximum visibility during the day without blinding the driver at night. The skin is available in a 320x240 and 640x480 resolution.

PocketMusic 3.2 supports VGA mode (480x640). If your PDA support VGA you can use the high quality skins below.

Night Skin
Don't be alarmed by the BMW sign. All Mini drivers know the
Mini is manufactured by BMW. The BMW logo is a big 'play'
button and will become a Mini logo when a song plays (see
day skin). My idea behind it was that the Mini is a BMW when
standing still, but becomes truly a Mini when you drive it.
The font used for the display is the Mini font, colors and
buttons match the Mini dashboard.Day Skin
This
skin would blind you at night but it's visibilty is good in bright daylight. May be it would be better to make the display also in white for visibility, but the orange looks better with the Mini.
